How to Add or Delete Categories

Adding a New Category

1. From your Wordpress Dashboard, select Posts and then Categories on the left menu.



2. On this screen you can enter the name of the new category, the slug (see image for description), the parent category, and a description.




Deleting a Category

1. From your Wordpress Dashboard, select Posts and then Categories on the left menu.




2. Move your mouse near the title of the category you wish to delete, and select the Delete link..




3. Press the OK button when prompted and your category will be removed immediately.
